Nigerian Does
Heidi's Mini Acres UFO DotsDOTS is the litter sister of GCH SNICKER … BOB and Best Udder at the 2009 MN State Fair Show, then Best Udder again in 2010. DOTS does not have quite the capacity as SNICKER but her udder is very well-attached, with correct placement of teats that are acceptable size and easy to milk. DOTS was dry when we linear appraised in 2013 but we are looking forward to 2014. Her sire is UFO (LA89) and her dam is CANDY, a GCH Best-in-Show doe. DOTS has given us 11 doelings in the last four kiddings and we’re really looking forward to a buck out of her. She will be mated to her half-brother THUMBPRINT, a UFO son that is the most linebred TOM THUMB buck in the country (same as a half-brother in CA sired by UFO’s full brother).
DOTS is the best UFO daughter we have owned and is the cornerstone of one of our families linebred to the great GCH Rosasharn UNI and her sire GCH Tom Thumb. (Black w/some white.) |
NC Promisedland MG Yenda VEVV 89Sire: Promisedland S Mel Gibson
Dam: NC Promisedland MG Diva DOB: 9/1/2007 YENDA, along with our other foundation doe from Promisedland, is the cornerstone of our second family. A product of a father x daughter mating (MEL GIBSON x DIVA), she was linear appraised in 2013 by John White at 89. She needs better feet and larger teats so we will make the mating again to ZIGGZAG (LA90). You will find a rear view of the udder of ZESTA (the dam of ZIGGZAG) elsewhere on this website. ZESTA was our other foundation doe from Promisedland, a super milker with long lactations and very large teats. The late Keith Harrell, in my view, was one of the most accomplished Nigerian breeders we’ve had in this country. I tell people, “I don’t want to have to hire an eight-year-old as a herd manager.” Keith understood that. Tiny teats are a huge problem in this breed, brought to you by those breeders who pumped out hundreds of dam-raised kids in the first years after breed recognition. Tiny Nigerian kids have no problem nursing teats that would be appropriate for a mother mouse. Humans with normal-sized hands struggle with the tiny teats on most Nigerians. Keith Harrell tried to break that pattern and is the only breeder who did so consistently.
Our combination of YENDA (dam was DIVA – LA91) and ZESTA (dam was ZIPPY – LA90) genetics are meant to produce larger teats with the desirable separation between the halves. While YENDA has small teats, her dam had large teats. Unfortunately, YENDA only has one living daughter (sired by a buck that produced small teats). We’ve gotten twin bucks from her each of the last three years. One of those (YKONA), linear appraised at 90 in 2013. If YENDA has bucks in 2014, they will be available. We will retain any does. YENDA’s dam, DIVA, produced 1,940 # of milk during her lactation beginning 6.02. She blew away the Breed Leader standard but didn’t get the award because she was ½” too tall. YENDA’s lone daughter is under height and so, it appears, will be her sons sired by ZIGGZAG. Finally, and most importantly, YENDA milks !!! … long and steady. (Cou Clair.) |

Dynamo Matrix Galaxy
Sire: Heidi's Mini Acres SH Matrix
Dam: Dynamo Falcon Glitter DOB: 5/22/2009 GALAXY is sired by a double UFO grandson out of GCH SNICKER (arguably UFO’s best-ever daughter). Her dam goes back to our original Texas animals. GALAXY was also dry in 2013 so didn’t get LA’d. She is correct in feet and legs but needs a flatter rump and larger teats, hence the mating to ZIGGZAG. We will sell GALAXY (bred to ZIGGZAG) once we are convinced she has settled. Price $400. (Black w/a few white spots.)

Dynamo UFO Destination
A beautiful doe that has never freshened. I know, it’s about time … and we have a buck working on that project. DESTINATION is very linebred to the great TIGER x UNI combination at Rosasharn. Her sire is UFO (a TIGER x UNI son) and her dam is a daughter of his full brother UKULELE KIA (sire of the Best Udder at the 2005 AGS National). We purchased UKULELE and owned him for the last years of his life. He bred at least two does that have linear appraised 91 in recent years. His best daughter here, DISCOVERY (great udder and lots of milk over long lactations) was the dam of DESTINATION.
We’re going to “cross” DESTINATION onto our young herdsire YZZMAN (ZIGGZAG x YENDA). If she comes in with a nice udder, we will have bucks available from the mating because they should be physically very correct and there’s a ton of milk on both sides of the pedigree. (Dark Buckskin and white.) (Photo to come.) |
Dynamo Falcon Zinnzia
Sire: Fairlea Fleur's Black Falcon
Dam: NC Promisedland SIA Zesta DOB: 11/17/2010 ZINNZIA is ZIGGZAG’s littermate. She has never been bred and we will linebreed her within our second family by mating her to YZZMAN (her nephew). If ZINNZIA comes in with an udder that combines the udder qualities of her dam (ZESTA), with her paternal granddam (FAIRLEA FLEUR), she will become a very valuable breeding doe. ZINNZIA is very correct and a doe we really want to get LA’d in 2014. (Black.)

Dynamo Zebra Candee VEVA 83
Sire: Dynamo UFO Zebra
Dam: Heidi's Mini Acres UFO Dots DOB: 3/6/2011 CANDEE linear-appraised 83 in 2013 as a two-year-old first freshener. She was already getting “stale” on her grass-only diet. Her littermate sisters appraised the same day at 84 and 85. But I kept a buck out of CANDEE (sired by ZIGGZAG) because I am convinced she will do better, much better, in the future. She is a long, stylish, very dairy doe with strength. The udder is very correct and I am expecting much more capacity on her second freshening.
CANDEE is a double granddaughter of UFO (and her granddams are the two best does UFO has ever been bred to … CANDY and ZESTA). She will be mated back to UFO to fortify this family. The big question is whether UFO is still fertile. He was leased last breeding season (2012/2013) and was not settling every doe. But the fact that he was dealing with nights of -40 degrees at times may have been a factor. (Black w/white face, tail.) (Photo to come.) |
Dynamo Ziggzag Daphne
DAPHNE was one of triplet does from DOTS’ last freshening (and ZIGGZAG’s first kid crop). One sister freshened as a yearling with a very nice udder. Since DAPHNE is a product of ZIGGZAG x DOTS, she is a “cross” between our two families. We’re going to take her back to the UFO/UNI side by mating her to THUMBPRINT, one of our UFO sons. THUMBPRINT’s dam, Rosasharn Red Maple, a double granddaughter of TOM THUMB, had, arguably, some of the largest teats ever produced in the Rosasharn herd (along with her dam). We want to keep pushing in that direction by using THUMBPRINT. (Black w/a few white spots.) (Photo to come.)

Dynamo Ziggzag Earthshine
EARTHSHINE is a very long, correct, very
striking black and 50-percent-white doeling. She is from a mating of ZIGGZAG
and CANDEE. We’re going to let her grow for a while, perhaps making a summer
2014 mating for winter milk.

Dynamo Ziggzag Earlybird
EARLYBIRD is the black/white littermate of EARTHSHINE and EAGLEHAWK. She may also be bred in summer 2014. (Photo to come.)
