Yes, ZIGGZAG went overall Excellent at two years seven months. He has three milking yearling daughters in another herd that have not been shown or linear appraised. He has a few more daughters that should be appraised in 2014. His dam (ZESTA) was our best milker, with an extended lactation, as a 2-year-old. His maternal granddam (ZIPPY) milked 1,600 # in 305 days but did NOT get credit for her Breed Leader numbers because she was ½” over height. His super paternal granddam was FAIRLEA FLEUR, who classified EX 92.2 and was Best Udder at the 2005 ANDDA National Show (held in conjunction with and just prior to the 2005 AGS National Show). FLEUR also had large, milkable teats and was the best milker in the FAIRLEA herd when we bought her son (BLACK FALCON).
ZIGGZAG is positioned as a key animal in our attempts to linebreed to his dam ZESTA. We would love to have those large, milkable ZESTA teats in our entire herd. He is siring very strong and correct feet and legs. So he gets the nod again this year as the mate for YENDA. (Black w/large splash left side.)
ZIGGZAG (LA 2013 EX90) … Sire is son of super doe FAIRLEA FLEUR (classified EX). Dam is Promisedland doe ZESTA with huge teats, excellent milker out of doe producing 1,600# milk in 300 days. SOLD

* B Dynamo UFO Mister Thumbprint VEV 87
This UFO son was produced out of a Rosasharn double granddaughter of TOM THUMB. And UFO, himself, is a grandson of TOM THUMB. More importantly, THUMBPRINT’s dam (RED MAPLE) had very large teats with very desirable division between the halves. RED MAPLE (UNDER MY THUMB x SANDLEWOOD) also had a very long body. She was on DHIA test for a short while and recorded a butterfat percentage of 5.9. Then she got her star on a one-day test where her butterfat was 6.2 percent.
As a sire, THUMBPRINT is producing kids with square feet and legs and powerful front ends. He does not have any milking daughters yet. In a series of test matings two years ago, he was mated to four does that were close relatives and he sired no kids with multiple teats. So now we move to the next testing phase with him by mating him to our best UFO daughter DOTS. (Dark buckskin, 50 percent white.) |
Dynamo UFO Your Decision VVV 85
Sire: *B Rosasharn TL Unforgettable Man VEE 89
Dam: NC Promisedland MG Yenda DOB: 3/5/2012 YOUR DECISION was the 2012 YENDA son we kept. Our plan is to breed and (hope to) settle only seven does. So YOUR DECISION will spend the first half of 2014 just looking through the fence. We would sell him for $500 outright … or $400 with a doe-back breeders’ agreement. (Dark Buckskin.) (Photo to come.)
YOUR DECISION (LA85 as yearling) … He has gone oversized (like his sire UFO … appraised at VG89 … only because new oversized rules prohibited UFO from being EX). UFO was foundation son of UNI … all-time breed leader for milk with more than 14,000# lifetime. DECISION is the equal of UFO for type and body length. Dam is our super milker YENDA (VG89). YENDA is inbred daughter of DIVA (1900# milk in 300 days but slightly oversized so didn’t get breed leader award). $500 OBO. |
Dynamo Ziggzag Eaglehawk
Sire: Dynamo Falcon Ziggzag VEE 90
Dam: Dynamo Zebra Candee DOB: 2/10/2013 Super correct, super dairy, EAGLEHAWK was one of triplets out of the first-freshening CANDEE. We kept him because of his type and breeding. And we expect him to be the 2015 mate for his granddam DOTS. (Black w/white poll, a few spots.)

Dynamo Ziggzag Yzzman 82
Sire: Dynamo Falcon Ziggzag VEE 90
Dam: NC Promisedland MG Yenda DOB: 2/10/2013 This may be the nicest YENDA son we’ve ever produced. Perhaps as good or better than his older half-brother YKONA (LA89). For that reason (and the super milk-producing potential in the ZESTA, YENDA gene pool), this very correct, dairy, wide-in-the-escutcheon buckling will get to breed two does this year. (Black Sundgau, brown trim, a few spots.) (Photo to come.)
YZZMAN (LA82 as yearling) … Would now be within a point or two of sire ZIGGZAG, we believe. Dam is our super milker YENDA (VG89). YENDA is inbred daughter of DIVA (1900# milk in 300 days but slightly oversized so didn’t get breed leader award). SOLD |
Dynamo Ziggzag Yzz Tumbleweed
Sire: Dynamo Falcon Ziggzag VEE 90
Dam: NC Promisedland MG Yenda DOB: 2/10/2013 YZZ TUMBLEWEED (Appraised as young in June 2013 +++ +) … We believe this YZZMAN littermate would rate even higher than his brother. Sire is ZIGGZAG (LA2013 EX90). Dam is our super milker YENDA (VG89). YENDA is inbred daughter of DIVA (1900# milk in 300 days but slightly oversized so didn’t get breed leader award). $300 OBO.

*B Rosasharn TL Unforgettable Man (LA89) … UFO (son of UNI … 14,887 lbs. lifetime milk)
Sired GCH Snickers … BOB, Best Udder 2009 Minnesota State Fair; Best Udder 2010 Fair
Full Uncle of 1st ADGA National Show GCH Nigerian Haiku (2010)
Sired GCH Cirina … BOB 2012 NDGA National Show
Full brother of ++*B Ukulele … sired Best Udder at 2005 AGS National Show
Sired GCH Snickers … BOB, Best Udder 2009 Minnesota State Fair; Best Udder 2010 Fair
Full Uncle of 1st ADGA National Show GCH Nigerian Haiku (2010)
Sired GCH Cirina … BOB 2012 NDGA National Show
Full brother of ++*B Ukulele … sired Best Udder at 2005 AGS National Show
UFO came to us as a kid, then stood at stud in a friend’s herd in 2006. He was bred to doelings of outstanding pedigree and went on to produce several kids with multiple championship legs. UFO kids are very correct. As mature does, they appear to have udders that are very similar to those of their dams. His two most notable daughters are SNICKER, a permanent GCH, that was BOB and Best Udder at the large 2009 MN State Fair Show; then she followed that with the Best Udder at the 2010 MN State Fair. Another daughter, CIRINA, was the 2012 ANDGA National Best of Breed. We have gotten reports of yet other daughters linear appraising in the high 80s.
UFO’s older full sister, UNAGI, was the breed leader for butterfat a few years ago. When mated to her half-brother (a TIGER son), she produced the first ADGA Nigerian National Show BOB (HAIKU). UKULELE KIA, an older full brother that was in our herd in his last years, sired the 2005 AGS National Show Best Udder and produced at least two does that linear appraised 91. Their dam (UNI) is far and away the highest lifetime producing doe in the breed. Their sire (TIGER) has many GCH daughters with beautiful udders; he is the son of a former AGS National Show BOB. TIGER really contributed to the breed when Rosasharn mated him to daughters of the 2x AGS National Champion Buck TOM THUMB. There are no finer genetics in the breed for milk and show than this linebred family.
UFO linear appraised at seven years, three months at 89. He has super shoulders and passes them on. Unfortunately, he has a high dorsal process that put him over height. But I am not aware of any daughters that have gone over. He has outstanding body length and feet and legs with a very wide rump.
We will only mate him to one doe for 2014, his double granddaughter CANDEE. When we leased him last year, we got reports of some does not settling … but he was also spending his winter nights in a northern Minnesota community where temps often get to –40 and lower. (Dark buckskin w/white.)

Dynamo UFO Zen +V+ 84
We sold ZEN as a kid, then had an opportunity to buy him back two years ago. He does not have the length or height of UFO. But we intend to use him to linebreed to Promisedland ZESTA (dam of ZIGGZAG and ZINNZIA) as we develop the teat size in our herd.
ZEN’s littermate brother (ZEBRA) was the sire of CANDEE and her littermates (out of our UFO daughter DOTS). (Black w/a few white spots.) |
